Chickens producing ANIMAL WELFARE FOOD EGGS can move freely during daylight hours.

 

They can stretch their wings, have sun and dust baths and scratch for worms and insects.

 

The hens have access to healthy green paddocks where they can eat a lot of greens which results in very dark yolk colours.

 

The hen houses are ventilated and dry and the supplementary feed for the hens is heat treated

and available to the hens all day round.

 

Houses have automated feeding, nest boxes and egg collection belts which reduces labour costs.

To keep our hens healthy expert advise is sought when and if necessary.

 

All farms operate their own Risk Management Programme which is verified yearly by agents of the New Zealand Food and Safety Authority (NZFSA)
